1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SYNARA Technologies Ltd ("Synara," "we," "our," or "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.
2. Description of Service
Synara is an AI-powered health information platform that:
- Provides general health guidance based on user queries
- Operates in multiple African languages (currently English and Swahili)
- Uses artificial intelligence (Claude by Anthropic) to generate responses
- Does NOT provide medical diagnosis, prescription, or treatment
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Synara. By using this Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
4. User Responsibilities
4.1 Appropriate Use
You agree to:
- Use Synara for informational purposes only
- Provide accurate information when using the Service
- Respect the intellectual property rights of Synara and others
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
4.2 Prohibited Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use Synara as a substitute for professional medical care
- Rely solely on Synara in emergency situations
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
- Submit false, misleading, or malicious content
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
5. Medical Disclaimer & Limitations
5.1 No Doctor-Patient Relationship
Synara does not create a doctor-patient relationship. Our AI provides general health information, not personalized medical advice.
5.2 AI Limitations
You acknowledge that:
- AI can make mistakes or provide incomplete information
- Responses are based on general knowledge, not your specific medical history
- Synara cannot physically examine you or order diagnostic tests
- You should verify important health information with qualified professionals
5.3 Emergency Situations
In medical emergencies, DO NOT use Synara. Call your local emergency number (e.g., 999 in Kenya, 911 in other countries) or go to the nearest emergency facility immediately.
Emergency signs include but are not limited to:
- Chest pain or pressure
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe bleeding
- Loss of consciousness
- Signs of stroke (face drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulty)
- Severe allergic reactions
6. Privacy & Data
Your use of Synara is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of data as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of Synara (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, software, and AI models) are owned by SYNARA Technologies Ltd and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
SYNARA IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- AI responses will be accurate, complete, or reliable
- Defects will be corrected
- The Service is suitable for your particular health needs
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SYNARA HEALTH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any health consequences resulting from use or misuse of the Service
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Damages exceeding the amount you paid to use Synara (if any)
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SYNARA Technologies Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
11. Third-Party Services
Synara uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power our chat system. Your use of the Service is also subject to Anthropic's Terms of Service.
12. Modifications to Service & Terms
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time
- Update these Terms with or without notice
- Deny access to users who violate these Terms
Your continued use of Synara after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Kenya.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SYNARA Technologies Ltd regarding use of the Service.
